City of Ghent, and Liverpool City Region
have the pleasure to invite you to the debate:
‘Green solutions for energy poverty’
which will take place on Tuesday 11th October 2016 at 11.15 – 13.00
at the premises of the Wielkopolska Region Brussels Office
Rue Montoyer 21, 1000 Brussels
The keynote speech will be delivered by Mr Klaus-Dieter Borchardt, Director for Internal Energy Market in the European Commission. The debate between the representatives of regions and cities will focus on energy poverty. This phenomenon affects between 50 and 125 million Europeans and is a result of economic crisis in Europe, which has caused a considerable reduction of family incomes. Energy prices continue to increase in most EU countries. A significant part of the population is unable to heat adequately their homes because they have to pay exorbitantly high energy bills. The causes and impact of energy poverty, as well as best practices to address the problem, will be the main topics of the discussion.
To register go to the website of the European Week of Regions and Cities 2016 and choose the code 11A16.

Ingo Espenschied
