The cohesion policy aims at supporting comprehensive and sustainable development of the EU. It’s main goal is to mitigate differences in the economic development among the European regions. Moreover, the cohesion policy being a substantial source of financing projects all over Europe, is also an important tool of stabilization. Today, in consequence of the global financial crises, the modifications and new challenges of the cohesion policy are being discussed.
The conference organized by the Union of the Voivodeships of the Republic of Poland, Polish regional offices in Brussels, Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU and with the support of the European Commission should provide an essential contribution to the debate on the revision of the EU budget.
