The session will be moderated by Ms Dr Angelika Poth-Mögele, Executive Director European Affairs of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR).
The debate will showcase how local and regional authorities implement sustainable solutions to shift towards a carbon-neutral economy. Cities and regions put into practice driving projects to get on track to the 2050 goals and the localisation of the SDGs, show citizens carbon neutral’s advantages and engage them in the transition, as a shared multi-stakeholder responsibility.
Contributors will present their own strategies and projects related to different aspects of energy transition, such as mobility, energy efficiency in buildings and use of renewable, clean energy sources.
Audience members will get to exchange views with the panellists on the way the EU could consider local and regional suggestions for the future policy framework post-2020.
